The Planetarium at FSU

The FSU Planetarium serves the FSU Astronomy Program at Fayetteville State University. It is directed by Professor John Mattox. It is located in room 100 at the north end of the ground floor of the Lyons Science Building on the FSU campus. Here is a campus map. The Planetarium features a Spitz model 512 projector with 2354 stars. The dome is 30 feet in diameter, and the facility seats 58 people in fixed chairs. An additional 15 people can be seated in stacking chairs. We are associated with the Southeastern Planetarium Association , and the International Planetarium Society. Programs for school groups are presented on weekday mornings. Here is information about reservations. Among our programs are Follow the Drinking Gourd, Beyond Einstein, Point of No Return, and Eyes on Mars.
